[In-House] Web Novel Localization QA Editor

🔎 Job Description As a Web Novel Localization QA Editor, you will work with other in-house editors, project managers, vendors, and freelancers to review and finalize content for publication. You will also play a key role in developing QA guidelines, training new collaborators, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output across multiple series. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated professional with strong communication skills, excellent editorial judgment, the ability to work comfortably with others, and the capacity to balance detail-oriented quality control with efficient workflow management. This is a 1-year contract position. 🔎 Responsibilities 1. Review and finalize translated web novel content for publication. 2. Train vendors and freelancers to meet quality standards 3. Develop, update, and refine QA guidelines 4. Manage external resources, including hiring freelancers, and overseeing the training and evaluation of freelancers and vendors 5. Work with internal stakeholders to monitor project progress, quality standards, and any QA-related issues

Qualifications

🔎 Qualifications 1. Native English speaker 2. Excellent command of American English grammar, spelling, and punctuation 3. Strong writing and editing skills with a solid grasp of narrative tone and flow 4. Exceptional attention to detail 5. Ability to identify and resolve inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and issues with readability or tone in localized translations 6. Intermediate proficiency in Korean (reading and speaking) 7. Professional experience in proofreading or editing 8. Strong communication skills for providing feedback and training to peers, vendors, and freelancers 9. Valid visa status to work in Korea

🔎 Preferred Qualifications 1. At least 1 year of experience localizing translated content 2. Familiarity with English fiction writing and storytelling conventions 3. Experience working with web novels or other serialized fiction 4. Strong understanding of North American culture, as well as some familiarity with Korean cultural references and norms 5. Experience using EPUB editors or creating EPUB files
