Job Description
• Serve as the primary technical and advocacy point of contact for ethanol and low-carbon fuel engagement in Africa (currently Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, and Ethiopia) • Advise on how ethanol fuel solutions can integrate with local oil companies' infrastructure, logistics, and operating practices • Gather and synthesize market feedback from oil logistics and biofuel industry stakeholders, producing regular reporting and recommendations • Build and manage relationships with government agencies, industry bodies, fuel producers, refiners, and shipping companies • Coordinate and represent EcoLinks at stakeholder meetings, workshops, and technical or promotional events • Track and report on policy, regulatory, and market developments relevant to biofuels in target markets • Contribute to EcoLinks' broader biofuel business strategy and help launch new initiatives in biofuel trading and feedstock development • Coordinate the work of local market consultants or junior associates as needed, escalating strategic or budget decisions to the Managing Director
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, Engineering, or a related field • A few years of relevant professional experience in energy, international trade, agribusiness, finance, or environmental business development, at a level suited to middle management • Familiarity with biofuels, ethanol markets, or fuel supply chains is welcomed; we place more weight on your ability to learn quickly and apply new technical and industry knowledge • Experience engaging government, regulatory, or industry stakeholders, ideally in African markets • Strong analytical and written communication skills, comfortable producing market intelligence and stakeholder reporting • Fluency in English is required; ability to travel regionally within Africa
Preferred
• Interest in commodity trading and/or agricultural feedstock supply chains is a strong plus • Self-directed and comfortable operating with autonomy across multiple markets; experience coordinating junior staff or external consultants is a plus
