Application Writing & Speaking Defense Coach Online 1:1 Program We are not looking for someone who simply corrects sentences. We are looking for a coach who can uncover meaningful experiences, ask perceptive questions, and help applicants develop persuasive writing in their own voice. Rachel English has built a structured application-writing program based on 23 years of English education experience. The core curriculum and operating framework are already in place. We are now seeking an experienced coach who can understand the program deeply, apply sound professional judgement, and help us refine it through practice. [Key Responsibilities]: • Coach one application document, such as an SOP, Personal Statement, Application Essay, Motivation Letter, Scholarship Essay, or Cover Letter • Conduct online one-to-one Writing Coaching and Speaking Defense sessions • Guide students in developing their ideas, structure, logic, and authentic voice • Complete full-draft reviews and concise Session Logs • Participate in paid on boarding and several initial in-person meetings in Samsong, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. [You May Be a Strong Fit If You]: • Have experience teaching tertiary-level academic, application, or professional writing • Can analyze the purpose behind a prompt and ask questions that draw out meaningful content • Know how to guide revision without rewriting a student’s work • Provide accurate feedback and respect deadlines and confidentiality • Are willing to build trust in person and contribute thoughtful professional insight during the initial stage [Terms]: • Freelance position; assignments depend on student enrollment • Live coaching: KRW 40,000 per 60-minute session • Full-draft review: KRW 60,000 per hour (typically KRW 90,000 for a 90-minute review)

Qualifications

[This Role Is Not Suitable If You]: • View writing coaching mainly as grammar correction or proofreading • Rewrite students’ work or rely on AI to produce polished drafts for them • Have only general ESL experience without demonstrable writing-coaching ability • Want a fully remote role from the outset or only occasional lessons fitted into spare time [Terms]: • Initial in-person meetings: Samsong, Goyang-si. • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Korea. • Classes are conducted online, but in-person meetings at Rachel English in Samsong may be required for initial on boarding and program coordination, with advance notice.
