Job Description

- We here at Nexon Korea are looking for translators to help us localize anime-inspired narratives and video game content into English. - We are looking for people who · Like to dive into lore & analyze characters in nerdy detail. · Evaluate the impact of their own writing through an audience perspective. - In particular, we are looking for people who can help us deliver character-driven narratives through the medium of spoken dialogue. - We are looking for people who · Have an intuition for the physical cadence & delivered effect of spoken words. · Write effectively in registers outside of their own customary manner of speech. · Produce and maintain distinct character voices across an ensemble cast. - If you’re the type of person who, when consuming popular media (especially translated & localized media), finds themselves noticing places where the writing & delivery could be tighter, cleaner, or more effective, we would love to hear from you! - 인게임 스토리 컨텐츠 및 캐릭터 대사의 영어 현지화 - 인게임 콘텐츠 관련 제반 텍스트의 영어 현지화 - 현지화 업무를 위한 자료 조사 및 부서 내 소통

Qualifications

- Someone who can accurately understand the intent and nuances of the original Korean text and express them in natural English - Someone who can enhance the immersion and interest of content through carefully crafted writing - Someone who can delicately grasp the subtle differences and nuances of language - [Required Submission] A portfolio of sample translations that demonstrates your ability to produce natural and distinct character voices across a wide range of registers and personality types

- Extensive experience playing various game genres in both Korean and English - High understanding of Anglo-American pop culture, gaming culture, and Western/Japanese anime fandom culture - Proficiency in Japanese at a basic level or higher
