UX Writer (Kyarapu)

Job Description

• Writes and manages all Japanese text displayed on the Kyarafu app/web, including UI text, error and system messages, and push notifications. • Writes Japanese text that fits the screen context and user flow, based on the Korean text finalized by each squad. • Defines Kyarafu's unique Japanese voice & tone guidelines and glossaries. • Continuously improves the system by inspecting actual screens after deployment.

Qualifications

• Individuals with native-level Japanese writing skills and a deep understanding of the linguistic sensibilities of Japanese users • Individuals capable of accurately understanding planning documents and wording written in Korean and collaborating seamlessly in Korean • Individuals capable of explaining the rationale behind wording and persuading colleagues based on evidence from a user perspective, rather than intuition • Individuals capable of writing concise wording that considers the character limit of mobile screens and UI context

Preferred

• At least 2 years of experience in UX Writing or product localization for app/web services • Long-term experience living, studying, or working in Japan • Experience expanding beyond simple translation to create guidelines, templates, and systems that the entire team can reuse • Experience expanding the scope of work to include translation, proofreading, and pattern extraction using AI tools such as Claude Code • Experience using localization tools such as Lokalise, Phrase, and Crowdin • Enjoying Japanese subculture content such as AI character chat, games, manga, and light novels
