Hello, I’m currently on a D-10 visa and recently received a job offer.
I’m currently on a D-10 visa and recently received a job offer. However, the company told me they’re not eligible to sponsor an E-7 visa, so they suggested that I switch to an F-2 visa instead. I have a master’s degree from Korea and I meet the 80+ point requirement. I have two questions: Can I apply for an F-2 visa even if the company cannot sponsor an E-7 visa? If my F-2 application is rejected, would my current D-10 visa still remain valid? Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, you can apply for an F-2-7 (points-based) visa independently, even if the company is not eligible to sponsor an E-7 visa. The F-2-7 visa is based on your personal qualifications (education, income, Korean ability, etc.), not on company sponsorship. As long as you meet the required points and income criteria, the company's E-7 eligibility does not directly affect your F-2 application.
