I got accepted to a Korean university, but it feels like everyone gets accepted.

I’m genuinely grateful, but part of me feels like everyone gets in. If this mindset is wrong or if it sounds hurtful to people who weren’t accepted.. I’m sorry. My application process wasn’t easy, so I keep wondering: was it mostly about document validity and formal requirements, or was I actually selected among many applicants because I deserved it?

Looking for advice on getting a frontend role with E-7 visa support

Hi everyone, I’m a mid-level frontend / software developer with ~3+ years of experience working primarily with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and modern frontend tooling. I hold a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and have worked on production-level web applications, dashboards, and internal tools. I’m currently exploring opportunities in Korea and wanted to ask the community for practical advice on landing a role that offers E-7 visa support. Specifically, I’d love tips on: Which types of companies are most open to sponsoring E-7 for frontend engineers Whether applying directly vs recruiters works better How important Korean language ability is for frontend roles Any common mistakes to avoid when applying from overseas If anyone here has successfully gone through the E-7 process (or hired foreign developers), I’d really appreciate your insights. Thanks in advance!

    D-4 Visa Issuance

I’m planning to take the Korean language program at Yonsei, but I’m worried because I have a long gap. I finished a beginner course back in 2012, then only took one Korean course in my home country in 2021, and there has been a gap since then. If I apply again after this kind of break, could it make the visa harder to get? I’m really concerned about this...

Future Changes in the Job Market in Korea

Hi everyone, I’m currently majoring in engineering, and I’m in Korea as an exchange student. Right now, I’m preparing for a master’s program in electrical engineering. I’ve heard that the job market in Korea is pretty tough these days, so I’m wondering if things might improve over the next few years. With the population declining, I was thinking there could be a labor shortage in the future, which might open up more opportunities for foreigners too. I’m planning to graduate in 2028, and I’m also continuing to study Korean. If I can reach around TOPIK Level 5 by then, do you think I’d have a realistic chance of getting hired in Korea in 2028? Thanks for reading!
