    Seeking Opportunities: research Project Managerh

Hello everyone / 안녕하세요, I am currently a European Project Manager (Apprentice) at the Paris Brain Institute (ICM), and I am preparing for my relocation to South Korea in late 2026. As South Korea is now an Associate Member of Horizon Europe, I am looking to connect with professionals in the research, innovation, and DeepTech sectors to discuss potential opportunities that match my profile. My Background & Roles: EU Project Management: Currently managing the lifecycle of international research grants (Horizon Europe, ERC, MSCA). I assist researchers in navigating complex funding schemes, budgeting, and administrative compliance. AI & Neuroscience Expertise: I am finalizing a Master’s thesis specifically focused on the emergence of Artificial Intelligence within Neurosciences : exploring how AI models are transforming brain research and clinical diagnostics. Dual Competency: I bridge the gap between high-level administrative strategy and cutting-edge scientific innovation. Language Skills: French: Native. English: Fluent (Full professional proficiency, daily use for international projects). Korean: Beginner (Actively learning and highly motivated to reach a conversational level before my arrival). What I am looking for: I am interested in roles within International Research Centers (like Institut Pasteur Korea, KIST), University Global Offices (SNU, KAIST, Yonsei), or HealthTech/AI Startups looking to expand their European collaborations. If you have any leads, advice on the "Research Administration" market in Seoul, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you for your help! / 감사합니다!

My friend works in that field, so I’ll share what I know based on the information I’ve heard! To work as a researcher in Korea, you generally need to have at least a master’s degree from a Korean university. If you already have experience, the most realistic path is usually to receive an offer directly from a university or a company. There are occasional job postings for research positions, but many of them tend to target candidates who graduated from Korean institutions.

Thank you for your reply. To clarify, I am not exactly a researcher; instead, I support researchers in securing high-level and highly competitive grants. My role is more akin to a specialist consultant in funding schemes. On that note, do you think it would be possible to get in touch with your friend? I would love to hear their insights on the research field in Korea and how they manage grant systems there.
