Visa Description

  • Married and divorced families
  • Maximum length of stay per grant: 3 years

 

Visa Candidate

  • F-6-1: A person who is validly married in Korea and wishes to remain in Korea to continue his or her marriage to a Korean national.
  • F-6-2: A father or mother who is raising or intends to raise a minor child born in a marriage (including a de facto marriage) with a national in Korea after the marriage is terminated.
  • F-6-3: A person recognized by the Minister of Justice as being unable to maintain a normal marital relationship due to the death or disappearance of his or her spouse, or other reasons for which he or she is not responsible, while staying in Korea while married to a national.

    • Original passport of the applicant (foreign spouse)        
    • One copy of the applicant's passport        
    • Visa application fee        
    • Invitation letter for the foreign spouse (written in Korean by the Korean spouse)        
    • Identity Guarantee (Korean spouse to fill out in Korean)
    • Marriage Background Statement of the foreign spouse (written in English by the foreign spouse)
  • Documents to be prepared by the Korean spouse
    • One copy of the Korean spouse's passport     
    • Basic Certificate (detailed)        
    • Marriage certificate (details)       
    • Family Relationship Certificate (detailed)        
    • Original resident registration card       
    • Certificate of completion of the International Marriage Guidance Program
    • Original medical certificate        
    • Original criminal background certificate
    • Original marriage certificate

  • Documents to be prepared by the foreign spouse
    • Original marriage certificate
    • Original criminal background certificate
    • Original medical examination        
  • Documents related to the income requirements of the Korean spouse
    • Original proof of income       
    • 1 copy of credit report
    • Labor income withholding or employment certificate
  • Documents related to communication requirements for foreign spouse
    • Select and submit one of the following documents        
    • Certificate of completion of Korean Language Course (Level 2), Certificate of completion of Sejong Academy (Beginner 1A+1B)
    • Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) transcript        
    • Certificate of completion from a designated Korean language institution       
    • Diploma from a Korean language-related university (graduate school)        
    • Proof of foreign nationality       
    • Proof that the foreign spouse has lived in Korea for at least one year.
    • Proof that the Korean spouse has lived in a country where the foreign spouse's language is an official language for at least one year.        
    • Proof that the Korean spouse is a naturalized citizen of a country where the foreign spouse's language is an official language.        
    • Proof that the Korean spouse and the foreign spouse have lived in the country where the language of the foreign spouse is an official language for at least one year.         
    • Other evidence of communicability        
  • Documents related to the Korean spouse's housing requirements
    • If you are a homeowner, a copy of your property register        
    • If you are a landlord, one copy of the landlord's registration certificate and lease agreement        
  • Proof of relationship
    • Documents that can prove the history of the relationship and the authenticity of the marriage.
