did being IN Korea actually get you more responses?

I applied my D-10 but trying to figure out timing before I fly in (Seoul living costs add up fast with no income yet). Applied to a bunch of roles from abroad so far; zero responses, not even rejections, just silence. What i'm Curious: Did applying in-person/being in Korea actually change your response rate? Anyone get traction applying remotely first? How long did it take? Any tips for making remote apps more competitive while I decide? Trying to time this right given the visa deadline + budget. Any experiences appreciated 🙏
