Visa Description
- Conversational instruction in a foreign language by a foreigner who meets the qualifications prescribed by the Minister of Justice at a foreign language institute, an educational institution of elementary school or higher and its affiliated language institute, a language institute affiliated with a broadcasting company or a language institute affiliated with a corporation, or other similar institution or organization.
- Conversation instruction
- The activity of teaching students how to communicate with each other in a foreign language at a foreign language school, educational institution, company, organization, etc.
- Teaching specific linguistics, literature, or interpretation/translation techniques in a foreign language does not constitute conversation instruction.
- Place of activity
- Foreign language schools, educational institutions above elementary school level and their affiliated language institutes, language training centers affiliated with broadcasters and companies, and other similar institutions or organizations.
- Maximum period of stay that can be granted once: 2 years.
Visa Candidate
- Instructors at foreign language schools, etc.
- A national of the country whose native language is the foreign language, who has graduated from a university or higher school in the country whose native language is the foreign language and holds a bachelor's degree or higher, or the equivalent.
- Graduated from a high school or vocational college in a country where the foreign language is the native language and holds a bachelor's degree or higher from a university in Korea.
- Those who have been recruited and selected by the Ministry of Education or a city or prefectural education inspectorate and intend to work in elementary, middle, or high schools.
- Nationals of English-speaking countries who have graduated from a university in their country of origin with a bachelor's degree or higher.
- Native English speaking countries (7 countries) : USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland
- Allows non-English-speaking spouses of professionals and international students to teach English conversation.
Visa Requirements
- Application form, passport, and one standard-sized photograph.
- Officially verified academic credentials (only one of the following must be submitted: photocopy of diploma, certificate of completion, or graduation certificate indicating completion of degree)
- Officially verified criminal background check from your home country (must include criminal convictions throughout your home country).
- An officially verified third country criminal background check: If you earned your degree outside of your home country, submit.
- Home country criminal history certificate for compliance purposes
- Health Certificate
- Employment contract (minimum wage requirement: at least the minimum wage of the current year), documents related to the establishment of an academy or organization
- Other references required for screening: Tutor utilization plan, student and employee status
