Visa Description
- Those who intend to stay in Korea for a long period of time in order to obtain permanent resident status.
- Maximum period of stay: 5 years
Visa Candidate
- 1. a minor alien child of a national or the spouse of a person with permanent resident (F-5) status and his or her minor children
- A person born in a marriage (including a de facto marriage) to a national, as recognized by the Attorney General
- 3. Persons recognized as refugees
- 4. A person who is a foreign investor under the Foreign Investment Promotion Act and falls under any of the following.
- A foreigner who has invested US$500,000 or more and has been continuously residing in Korea for more than three years under the status of enterprise investment (D-8).
- A foreign corporation that has invested more than US$500,000 and is dispatched to a domestic foreign-invested company under the Foreign Investment Promotion Act. A foreign corporation that has invested more than US$500,000 in a domestic foreign-invested company and has been staying in Korea for more than three years.
- A foreigner who has invested US$300,000 or more and employs two or more nationals.
- A person who has lost the status of permanent residence (F-5) and the Minister of Justice recognizes that it is necessary to continue to stay in Korea in order to protect the rights and interests of domestic relations (excluding those who have been forcibly evicted).
- 6. A person recognized by the Minister of Justice as a person with a status of residence other than diplomatic (A-1) to agreement (A-3) who has been continuously residing in Korea for more than five years and has his/her place of residence in Korea.
- 7. A person who is working in a non-professional (E-9), seafarer (E-10), or visitor (H-2) status of residence who has worked for a period of four years or more in a status of residence determined by the Minister of Justice within the past 10 years, and who meets all of the following requirements.
- Possess technical or skill certifications as prescribed by the Minister of Justice or receive wages of a certain amount or more in Korea (the types of technical or skill certifications and wage standards shall be prescribed by the Minister of Justice in consultation with the head of the relevant central administrative agency).
- Have assets in excess of the amount prescribed by the Minister of Justice.
- Have reached the age of majority under the Civil Code of the Republic of Korea, be of good moral character, and possess the basic skills necessary to live in the Republic of Korea.
- 8. is recognized by the Minister of Justice as a person appointed as a public official under the National Civil Service Act or the Local Civil Service Act
- 9. A person whose age, education, income, etc. fall within the standards set by the Minister of Justice and published by the Ministry of Justice
- 10. A foreigner recognized by the Minister of Justice as a person who has invested in assets such as real estate or as an officer or shareholder of a corporation in accordance with the criteria prescribed by the Minister of Justice, including the investment area, investment object, and investment amount.
- 11. A person recognized by the Minister of Justice as having made special contributions to the Republic of Korea or contributed to the promotion of public interest
- 12. Spouses and minor children of persons falling under 9 through 11.
Visa Requirements
- A single-entry residence permit for the (F-5) spouse of the permanent resident status holder for a period of stay of not more than 1 (F-2-3) years.
- Application form, passport, one standard-sized photograph, and fee
- Domestic spouse's identity guarantee
- Invitation letter, marriage background statement
- Proof of marriage between the invitee and the host country
- Marriage certificate, certificate of family history, etc.
- Financial (income) documents
- Income certificate (issued by the tax office), employment certificate, account transaction history, etc.
- Credit report of the invitee (issued by the Korea National Banking Association)
- Certificates of criminal background for both the sponsor and the sponsee issued by the competent authorities of the country of nationality or residence.
- If the permanent resident (F-5) status holder has already submitted a certificate of criminal history when changing his/her permanent resident status, it can be omitted only for himself/herself. However, if you have stayed abroad for more than 6 months after changing your permanent residence status, you must submit a certificate of criminal history issued by the government of the country where you stayed during your stay.
- Medical certificates for both the sponsor and the sponsee
- A medical certificate issued by a hospital-level medical institution under Article 3, Paragraph 2, Item 3 of the Medical Act or a public health center under Article 7 of the Community Health Act. However, in the case of the invitee, it may be substituted by the relevant health center or similar evidence that is accepted in the country of residence.
- If there is a previous marriage record, a document that proves the dissolution of the marriage (divorce certificate, etc.)
- For minor foreign children of nationals, a single residence (F-2-2) certificate for a period of stay of 90 days or less.
- Application form, passport, one standardized photo, and fee
- Official documents that prove you are a minor child of a Korean national
- Documentation of the relationship and custody of the minor by the Korean national.
- A letter of support from the father or mother who has custody (if the father or mother has a spouse, a letter of support from the spouse is also required).
- If the custodial relationship cannot be proven, the consent of the minor's parent or guardian who has the same nationality as the minor (if there is no parent or guardian, an official document or notarized certificate from the relevant country proving that there is no parent or guardian).
- A duplicate certificate of residence (F-2-2) valid for five years for a child born in a marriage (including a de facto marriage) to a national, with a period of stay of one year or less.
- Application form, passport, one standard-sized photo, and fee
- Letter of invitation
- Proof of relationship between the national and the minor
- Proof of paternity, such as a genetic test or birth certificate.
- South Korean national identity card or mock identity card.
- 4. Publicly traded companies working in promising industries
- Application for authorization to issue a visa, passport, alien registration card (only for those who have completed alien registration), and one standardized photograph.
- Tuberculosis certificate (in accordance with the Guidelines for Issuance of Visa and Residence Management for Foreigners with Tuberculosis)
- Applicant's employment contract, certificate of employment, business license, corporate registration certificate, proof of income amount, certificate of degree acquisition (planned), certificate of graduation (planned), etc. (Applicant) If the applicant is employed (including planned employment) at a company listed on ✔️유가증권시장 (KOSPI) or KOSDAQ (KOSDAQ) and is unable to submit proof of income amount, the annual income will be calculated as the equivalent of the annual salary stated in the employment contract.
- A score sheet indicating the number of points the applicant received
- Documents supporting the applicant's scores for each evaluation item.
- Proof of place of residence
- Additional documents requested by the examiner
- Spouses and minor children of merit-based applicants
- Application for authorization to issue a visa, passport, alien registration card (only for those who have completed alien registration), and one standard-sized photograph.
- Tuberculosis certificate (in accordance with the Guidelines for Issuance of Visa and Residence Management for Foreigners with Tuberculosis, etc.)
- Employment contract, certificate of service, business license, proof of earnings from the corporate register, certificate of completion of a degree, certificate of graduation, etc. (if applicable)
- If you are employed (or plan to be employed) at a company listed on the KOSPI or KOSDAQ, and cannot provide proof of the amount of your income, we will calculate your annual income as the equivalent of the annual salary stated in your employment contract.
- Proof of family relationship (must be a legal family relationship with the main resident)
- A score sheet with points for the point system evaluation.
- Documentation of the applicant's score for each evaluation item.
