Visa Description
- Employees of listed companies
- Employees of corporations listed on the Korean Stock Exchange (KOSPI) or KOSDAQ, or foreigners who have signed an employment contract and have been confirmed for employment.
- Foreigners who are employed or have signed an employment contract to work in a job classified as manager, professional, and related workers according to the Korean Standard Occupational Classification published by Statistics Korea.
- Workers in promising industries
- Foreigners who are employed or have signed employment contracts in industries such as IT, technology management, nano, digital electronics, bio, transportation and machinery, new materials, environment and energy under the scope of advanced technologies and products.
- The previous year's income according to the income amount certification source must be at least 1.5 times the GNI per capita (annual salary according to the employment contract).
- Professional workers
- Registered foreigners with one of the following statuses of residence: professor (E-1) to specialist (E-7-1) or journalist (D-5) to trade management (D-9).
- As of the date of application, you have been lawfully residing in Japan for three or more consecutive years in the above-listed professional status of residence and have met the requirements for residence, including extensions of the status of residence held at the time of application.
- However, the period of stay requirement (3 years) is waived if one of the following applies.
- If your annual income is 40 million won or more according to your income certificate.
- If you have been recommended by the head of a central administrative agency as an invitee for a project to support the attraction of overseas talent in science and technology recognized by the Minister of Justice.
- Study abroad talent
- Legally resident foreigners who have earned a master's degree or higher in Korea and are employed or working in a job that falls under the status of residence from professor (E-1) to professional (E-7-1) or interviewer (D-5) to trade management (D-9) within five years from the date of obtaining the degree.
- Potentially excellent human resources (F-2-7S)
- Those who have obtained or are planning to obtain a master's or doctoral degree from universities and research institutes specializing in science and technology.
- Foreign nationals who have earned a master's or doctoral degree from a university or research institute specializing in science and technology, even if they have not secured employment with a domestic company, may be allowed to change their status even if they do not meet the point requirement (up to 5 years) if they receive a recommendation from the university president.
Visa Candidate
- Have a combined score of 80 or more on the scoring system (see F-2-7 Scoring System Visa Test)
- No infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, etc.
Visa Requirements
- Basic documents
- Application form, passport, alien registration card, photo, fee, proof of residency, foreign criminal background check, employment contract, etc.
- Documents for the point system evaluation
- Score sheet indicating the number of points the applicant received
- Documents supporting the applicant's score for each evaluation item
- Additional documents: family relationship documents, tuberculosis screening certificate, diploma, recommendation letter from the president of a university specializing in science and technology, employment certificate, business license, proof of income, etc.
