We recently hosted an interactive workshop, JD & Company Analysis, designed for foreign job seekers living in Korea, including international students, expats, and professionals looking for new opportunities. Inside the Workshop: Latest Recruitment Trend

 

The event began with an insightful session on the latest recruitment trend: Personal Branding. The KOWORK team delved deep into how personal branding allows candidates to highlight their individuality beyond work experience or education. Building a strong personal brand also has the potential to help foreigners establish thought leadership in their chosen field, and thereby attract the right job opportunities.

Analyzing Job Descriptions

The next part of the workshop focused on methods to analyze Job Descriptions (JDs) and companies before applying. Together, we looked at real examples of job postings for roles like Social Media Marketer, Influencer Marketer, E-commerce Manager, and Overseas Sales Manager. Participants learned to identify the most common skills sought after by companies in these fields.

The session was practical and hands-on, helping attendees see how each JD reflects a company’s vision and roadmap, and how understanding this can transform the way candidates write their CVs or prepare for interviews.

Writing an Effective CV

After a detailed analysis, participants got down with the CV Writing Exercise, where they applied what they learned by tailoring their resumes for Korean recruiters. With guidance from the KOWORK team, they learned how to express their strengths, highlight relevant skills they possess, and align their experiences with their career goals.

1:1 Resume Coaching

The workshop concluded with 1:1 Resume Coaching, led by KOWORK’s in-house experts, including our CEO, Kim Jinyoung. Participants received personalized feedback on their CVs and practical advice on how to position themselves more strongly for the Korean job market.
