Hello, this is KOWORK, a platform for hiring foreign talent.
Today, we’re sharing the story of a foreign job seeker who successfully found a job in Korea.
Do you remember “Wang Jing (Chloe Wang)”, who was working as an intern last summer? (Read the previous blog here →)
We recently caught up with Wang Jing again. She has now completed her 3-month internship and has been working as a full-time employee for over 6 months.
We talked about her career growth at a Korean company, along with useful tips for job seekers.
Let’s dive into her story.
💬 Hello Wang Jing! It’s been a while. Could you briefly introduce yourself again?
Hello! I’m Wang Jing (Chloe Wang), and I’ve been working at “Arbaim” for about 10 months now.
Arbaim is a company that manages influencer marketing campaigns. I work in marketing operations.
My role involves creating guidelines for collaborations with brands and influencers, and managing the overall marketing operations for different projects.

💬 It’s great to see you again. How have you been?
I was converted to a full-time employee!
During the last month of my internship, I handled a project on my own for the first time, and the sense of achievement was huge. That’s when I realized I could grow more here, so I decided to continue working at the company.
After becoming a full-time employee, I started making more decisions on my own. Now, I’m even in a position where I guide new employees. (laughs)
💬 What do you think was the most important factor in being converted from an intern to a full-time employee?
I always did my best with the tasks given to me. If there were 10 tasks, I tried to prepare for 11.
When I finished one task, I would think ahead about what to do next and take action on my own.
I think this kind of proactive and responsible attitude was highly valued.
💬 Your responsibilities must have expanded after becoming a full-time employee. Was there anything new or challenging?
The overall workflow is quite similar.
However, each company and industry we work with has different processes, so every new project feels like a new challenge. After becoming a full-time employee, I feel a stronger sense of responsibility.
As an intern, I was focused mainly on my assigned tasks. Now, I need to think about everything happening in the company more broadly.

💬 It looks like you really enjoy working there. Honestly, how intense is the workload at a Korean company?
Our company can get very busy at times. But personally, I feel more accomplished when I’m busy.
💬 Many foreign job seekers are preparing for jobs in Korea. Do you have any tips for those preparing for interviews?
The most important thing is to understand why you want to join that company.
Take time to seriously think about your strengths and what makes you a good fit. This helps you build genuine interest in the company and understand how you can grow there.
Also, having a strong sense of responsibility is essential. Showing a proactive attitude during the interview is very important.
💬 What about tips for interns or new employees starting their careers?
Try not to stress too much.
Don’t worry about things you can’t control.
Focus on doing your best within what you can control.
And one more thing - don’t hesitate to ask questions!
💬 Lastly, is there anything you would like to say to foreign job seekers?
When preparing for a job, instead of focusing only on the company, it’s important to understand yourself first.
Rather than aiming only for big or “famous” companies, think about:
- What you want to do
- What you are capable of
Then find a company that fits you well.
Just like me, I believe you can find a company that truly matches you.
