The Ministry of Justice recently announced new plans for the 2025 work visa quotas.

This information is crucial for foreign workers and companies planning to operate steadily in Korea. Here’s a quick summary of the key updates!

Key Details on E-7 Work Visa Quotas
 

1. E-7-2 (Caregivers)

This visa was introduced as a pilot program in 2024 and is for foreign caregivers who hold a caregiving certification to work in care-related facilities.
The issuance quota for this year is set at a maximum of 300–400 individuals, with final confirmation pending further notice.
 

2. E-7-3 (Skilled Professionals in Specific Fields)

This visa is part of the 2025 pilot program and includes the following job categories:

  • Sheet Metal and Painting Maintenance Workers
  • Welding and Painting Workers in Construction Machinery Manufacturing
  • Molding, Welding, and Die Workers in Auto Parts Manufacturing
  • Butchers

The issuance quota is expected to be set at a maximum of 300–400 individuals.
 

3. E-7-3 (Specialized Manufacturing Workers)

Target job categories: Aircraft Parts Manufacturing Workers and Power Transmission Electricians.
This pilot program started in 2024, with the issuance quota also set at a maximum of 300–400 individuals.
 

4. E-7-4 (Skilled Workforce)

This visa targets skilled workers in industries like manufacturing and construction.

  • Out of the 2024 quota of 35,000, 13,474 visas have already been issued.
  • The total quota for 2025 will remain the same at 35,000.
  • However, the visa quota for agriculture and forestry sectors is expected to decrease, so related industries should take note.
