2025 E-7 Visa Salary Requirement Announcement (Effective from April 2025)

The Ministry of Justice has issued Public Notice No. 2025-106, setting forth the salary requirements for the E-7 visa status in 2025.
These requirements will be in effect from April 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
What is an E-7 Visa?
The E-7 visa allows the employment of foreigners in specific professional fields and is categorized into four main types:
- Professional Personnel (E-7-1) - Most office jobs (e.g., marketers, developers, overseas sales representatives, HR managers, etc.)
- Semi-Professional Personnel (E-7-2) - Medical coordinators, hotel receptionists, caregivers, etc.
- General Skilled Personnel (E-7-3) - Ship welders, ship painters, etc.
- Skilled Technical Personnel (E-7-4) - Skilled workers in the root industry, etc.
2025 E-7 Visa Salary Requirements

| Semi-Professional Personnel (E-7-2) | KRW 25,150,000 or more |
| General Skilled Personnel (E-7-3) | KRW 25,150,000 or more |
| Skilled Technical Personnel (E-7-4) | KRW 26,000,000 or more |
Changes in Salary Requirements
Previously, the salary requirements were based on 80% of the Gross National Income (GNI) and 70% for small and venture enterprises.
However, with this revision, a unified salary standard has been established, applying equally to all companies.
This change enhances clarity in salary conditions and ensures a more consistent hiring process for foreign employees.
Exemptions
Occupations for which the Minister of Justice has set different salary standards to protect local jobs will follow their respective criteria.
